In Case You Didn’t Know, I Like To Shop. LA Series: Part One.

One of the things that stood out to me about LA {besides seeing a woman pee, different story for another time} was the fashion. Everyone was just dressed so cool, that’s the only way I know how to describe it. I saw so many trends and styles there that I kept an on going list in my phone just so I wouldn’t forget! A couple different outfits stood out to me and one was a girl wearing a version of this above outfit. She had just a tank top with shorts on, then the socks and booties. I added a long sleeve shirt and tights because even though it was a nice day, it’s not LA weather here. This was such a fun outfit and I loved it so much, I wore another version of it later that week to work! { Disclaimer: Do NOT attempt this outfit at work unless you are in a creative industry, I will not be held responsible for that!}

Always remember that it’s all about making trends work for you and your own personal style. Always add your own little twist on a trend, I promise you will love your look that much more! I will be taking a couple things that I saw in LA and making them my own {obviously this outfit} as part of my LA Series. Get excited for some slouchy bags, flannel, and short shorts. Oh and of course, my flower crown!

I would like to announce that this photo shoot started the beginning of a beautiful professional relationship between my immensely talented best friend Leilani and I, she is now my photographer! I can’t wait to see where her talent and creativity will take my blog! {Plus, who doesn’t love working with your bestie?}

Here’s to a wonderful Sunday spent with the people you love, coffee if you are me, and the start of a glorious week!

I was at a hair show all day Sunday and something that I always love to see {besides the actual show} is how the hairstylists will dress and do their hair. You can’t argue that usually hairstylists have it going on in the hair and fashion department. I saw a girl wearing an awesome rocker tee and rocking an awesome pair of chunky wooden heeled booties and was inspired to create this outfit. The shirt is actually my Dad’s that I brought back for him the last time I was in Vegas but since it was the wrong size, I got a new dress! I love the casual coolness of this look, it’s just as easy as sweatpants but looks infinitely chicer. {Even though the girls I work with kept asking if I rode to lunch on a Harley.} Have an amazing Tuesday everyone!

Plaid has always been one of my favorite prints, as you can see here. I love maxi skirts and as a short woman I have always been under the impression that I couldn’t rock them. But one day I decided that “who cares?, I’m going to wear them anyways!” I’ve never looked back.

The second day in LA was spent having breakfast at The Nosh, perusing the aisles at The Melrose Trading Post, driving out to Malibu, going to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and then having dinner at The Pink Taco.  All in all it was a pretty awesome day in California, we couldn’t ask for better weather. It was perfect for what we wanted to do.

Probably one of the coolest places I have ever been. So much vintage jewelry my head almost exploded.

IMG_4648This place was flower crown central. And yes I bought one.

IMG_4650This was my favorite part of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre/ The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

So have a happy Monday, buy yourself a crop top, and throw on some plaid! Here’s to a wonderful week!

I am finally getting the chance to post about my trip to California! This outfit is from the first night that we went out, we decided to go to a restaurant called Rock Sugar which apparently has been on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” {I have no idea since I don’t watch that show but my cousin told me and I trust her!}. We had been going, going, going all day and I just wanted to be comfortable at dinner, so I chose to wear this outfit which was a last minute throw in to my suitcase. I am thinking these are prefect “brunch” pants for some reason, and one day I will wear them to a brunch!

We went on the WB Studio Tour that day and I got to see the high school from Pretty Little Liars which was insanely cool! Also I am a huge Harry Potter fan so I was basically about to cry when they said there was a whole floor in their prop museum dedicated to the franchise!

Nerd Alert: Original sketches of the wands from Harry Potter. I was in heaven being surrounded by all Harry Potter props.

Oh yeah loving life…

I have so many pictures of all things Harry Potter but since this isn’t a Harry Potter Fan Blog I won’t share them all, just know that if you are a fan DO THE TOUR. It’s worth the $54. As always thanks for stopping by, tomorrow’s post is all California too! Have a wonderful Sunday!IMG_3459
