Spencer’s Jacket.

IMG_5172{Blazer, Striped Sweater, and Jeans: Forever 21, Bag- Shoe Dazzle, Boots- Windsor, Bandanna- Wal-Mart.}

The title of this post is referring to Spencer Hastings, a character on ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” {which if you don’t watch you really need to, it’s AMAZING.} Spencer has a preppy sense of style but with a little bit of a funky flair and I feel like she would approve of and wear this jacket. Alas the post name.

IMG_5149I originally tied this bandanna into my hair to keep my bangs out of the way while I made pancakes this morning, but decided to leave it in because I thought it was a cute addition to a ponytail. Practical but pretty. I am a big lover of headbands, bandannas, scarves, and even mini-hats. I love dressing up my hair almost as much as dressing up my body!

IMG_5155It is a rarity that I wear this ring {it’s clunky and falls off a lot} but I couldn’t help slipping it on today when it caught my eye. I love this jewel encrusted lizard ring as much an anyone could and I feel it’s a funky addition to any outfit. {Except maybe a wedding dress, that would be out of place.}

IMG_5148Obviously these wedge boots are one of my favorites since I post about them all the time and this is my new bag that I purchased on Shoe Dazzle. Shout out to Jenna for finding it for me! I have been coveting the Celine Trapeze bag and this was my solution! Thanks Shoe Dazzle! {This could be a splurge vs. steal so prepare for that in the near future}. Much Love- Jenny

PS- I have to share my dinner from tonight, it was so delicious! They are called “Tofu Pups”, they are a vegetarian substitute for a hot dog, and they also happen to be gluten-free. My vegan/vegetarian/gluten free followers rejoice in a summer food that is homey and familiar. Prepare your grills!

Splurge VS. Steal

From a young age I had taste for the expensive life. I was convinced I was destined for a life filled with Prada bags, a private jet to fly to my private island, and designer clothes lining my huge closet. Then I grew up and realized that most people don’t have those luxuries and I more than likely wouldn’t as well. {Unless I marry a Prince, so if there is a Prince reading this, please email me and we can discuss marriage.} So as a girl in my twenties, hopelessly in love with fashion but lacking the funds to purchase the designers I covet, I have to come up with ways to fulfill my needs. That’s where my splurge vs steal post came from. I always on the hunt for items that look more expensive than they are, and I definitely have a gift for finding deals. My favorite stores include; Forever 21, Discovery, and TJ Maxx. It is hard for me not to find deals ands steals at these places, to the detriment of my bank account. I will be posting these as often as I find them, because I know I am not the only girl who wants the things she can’t afford!

{Splurge is from HauteLook and Save is from ShoeDazzle}

I don’t know about you but $39.99 is a little easier for me that $219.00 {and that is at 50% off ladies!}. Enjoy your Monday everyone! Much Love, Jenny

You can’t always be in 5″ heels.

I’ll admit it, I am a heels girl. Something about the way the click clack on the ground as you walk just makes me feel womanly. I will also admit, I am a chucks kinda girl too. I love being a girly girl and dressing to the nines, but sometimes you just don’t feel like it! So if I am running around or just going to a very low key bar I will go super casual. Like this…

IMG_5084{Honestly you could wear almost anything with that faux leather jacket thrown over it!}

Dark jeans. white tee, zip up hoodie, mint green bag, and my glasses complete my casual look. You can’t see but I was wearing amazing little booties with god sequins {and about a 3″ heel} to jazz the outfit up a bit. Although chucks would look amazing with this, I felt I needed a bit of sparkle. So enjoy your Saturday with whatever you are doing! I was so blessed that I got to spend most of the day with my best friends from high school honoring our cheer coach Robin who is retiring after 20 years as a coach! Congrats! Have a lovely weekend everyone! Much Love- Jenny

Mac N’ Cheese Pizza Pie!

It’s been a long time since I have done a recipe post so I thought it was high time to write one! Last year I created this Mac N’ Cheese Pizza but since then I have tweaked the recipe  a little bit and enjoy it 10x more now! As always my recipes are Gluten and Dairy free but you can substitute any of it for the real stuff and I’m sure it will be just as delicious!

The Mac N’ Cheese Pizza Pie

IMG_4991{ UDI’s Pizza Crust, Daiya Cheddar Style Shreds, Smart Balance Buttery Spread-Light with Flaxseed oil, Sea Salt, Pepper, Oregano, and Basil. Brown rice noodles,  Olive oil, not pictured.}

1. Boil the noodles until fully cooked, drain, return to pot but turn the knob down to a low/medium. {If you are not a gluten and dairy free individual you could always just use a box of Kraft or my favorite {pre- GF and DF} Amy’s Organics White Cheddar Mac N’ Cheese}

2. Preheat oven to whatever temperature the pizza crust needs. {Mine is 375}

3. Combine buttery spread and a handful of Daiya cheddar style shreds in the pot. {This part is more about your preference so play around and see what you like!} Stir noodles until both melt {cheese takes longer}, and make sure it is a constant stir otherwise the cheese will burn to the bottom and you might as well just throw it out then!

4. Spread a couple drops of olive oil on the pizza crust then take another handful of Daiya and evenly spread onto crust as well. {At this point if you are NOT dairy free I would suggest taking Velveeta cheese and spreading that on the crust as you would with pizza sauce, I’m sure it would be delicious!}

5. Layer the mac n’ cheese onto the crust evenly, pop into the oven, and keep an eye on it just in case the noodles look like they are getting too crispy.

Yum this is making me hungry again! I hope you enjoy this recipe, good luck! Here’s to a week of good food, old friends catching up, wonderful weather, and hopefully wearing my new cowboy boots! Much Love, Jenny!

Silly Rabbit, this outfit is for a date!

Snapshots of what I wore on a date tonight.

{Check out my cool tuxedo nails.}

I think figuring out what to wear on a date is tricky. You don’t want to show too much skin but you don’t want to look like a Nun. {Unless you are a Nun, but then why are you on a date?} You want to look casual but not like you just woke up. Men do NOT understand the stress of dressing yourself for a date, and I doubt they ever will. My go-to outfit for dates, dinners, drinks, shopping, basically anything I do out in public is jeans with a blazer or a chambray shirt, plus heels. Heels to me are a must because I always feel sexier and more confidant in them, and that’s exactly what you want to feel on a date! I also sometimes will check my fashion board on Pintrest for inspiration! {http://pinterest.com/redponytail/i-walk-around-trying-to-look-cute/ (Follow me!)}. Enjoy your week! Much love- Jenny!

Inspiration can be found in the strangest of places.

Spring is all about change. Change of weather, change of hair, change of clothing styles, and definitely a change of attitude {at least for me}. Lately here in my little town, spring has been trying to break through the clouds and show it’s face. These pictures will show you that it is doing a pretty good job! Inspiration can be found anywhere and lately for me it has been on a long country road with the sun beaming in the sky.

Where do you find inspiration in your daily life? Write me and let me know. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys this spring weather. It’s creeping and creeping closer to the 50’s everyday here so we are basically in a heat wave! Here’s to a week of lighter jackets, inspiration, and my birthday, which is on Friday! Much Love- Jenny
