Freckles & Faith Blog

I just wrote the longest post I have ever written, deleted it, and am starting over. As I write this I realize that could be a metaphor for the New Year, so basically you’re welcome.

My advice for 2015 {that I will be taking myself by the way…we’re in this together.}

1. Reminisce about the good times and what you experienced in 2014, take those experiences and learn from them!

2. Figure out what you LOVE doing, and do more of those things! Life is short, do stuff.

3. Spend time with your loved ones, make new friends, and dump the toxic ones. You know who they are because their name/names just ran through your mind. You can thank me later, you’re awesome and don’t need that negativity in your life.

4. Always have a bottle of champagne in your fridge because you never know when you will want a mimosa. {This is for Loni because we almost always want one and we never have champagne. Let’s buy more champagne girl! COSTCO!!}

5. Do something different with your hair. Even a subtle change can make all the difference. Don’t know what you want? ASK ME.

6. Take pictures of everything. It’s awesome to have documentation of what you were doing and who you were with! Plus, when you have kids one day they can go through your old pictures and make fun of your clothes and that hair. {The hair I encouraged you to try, again you are more than welcome for that.}

7. Just be happy. Smile more, sing to yourself, and wear your favorite color.

Simple things that will make everyday life in 2015 more enjoyable!

As for me something I will be doing in the beginning of this year is giving my blog a makeover, it’s about that time! This won’t be a subtle change either, I’m changing the name, look, and adding so many awesome things. You won’t even recognize her when I’m done!  So stay tuned, get excited, and be patient as I create content from the heart.

My cousin Jill and I last night, polaroid cameras rock! I may need to get one of those….

I ended the year on a great note, celebrating with some great people! I am ready for every adventure that will happen in 2015, excited to see what God has in store for me, and looking forward to the future! BYE 2014.

The Basic Outfit.

This scarf has been circling the blogosphere for quite some time and when I saw it pop up on my favorite website { Jane.com } I immediately snapped it up. Those were selling out like hot cakes and it’s not something that you wait on people! I also have a slight {or large depending on who you talk to} obsession with monogramming. So it seemed perfect to me that my new favorite scarf came monogrammed. Oh and it was only $20, ladies you need to check out this site. You’re welcome for making your 2015 accessory game totally on.

Bottom line, this is the perfect outfit for almost any occasion. It looks great with coffee and awesome with a glass of wine. You will get compliments all over the place when you wear this simple outfit and you will feel comfy and cute. What’s not to love?

For the first time in my life I really don’t have much to say, so all I will say is this….

1. Pearls always make me feel classy, no matter what else I have on

2. Red lipstick makes me feel more put together than anything else

3. Curling my hair like this is super easy, I promise! {Tutorial coming soon if there is interest!}

I hope everyone has an amazing week, I know I will! Revel in the beauty of this wonderful time of year and remember to count your blessings!

Five things…..

1. This is my new favorite bag. I am obsessed with it and was obsessed with the price {$32}

2. Layered necklaces are the way to go

3. Plaid is the best print for fall

4. Acid wash is awesome regardless of what my Mom says

5. Sundays are my favorite day and this is relevant because I wore this outfit on Sunday!

Fall is the best season and and my hope for the Midwest is that we have a wonderful fall, one that leaves me with fond memories that last me through this harsh winter.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a wonderful end to their week. As for me I’ll be out listening to comedians, getting “fancy” with my friends, and having some cocktails.

There is just something about Chicago. It’s been called the best city in the world and after having visited some of the biggest in the country, I have to agree. I have had some of my best; memories, concerts, dates, and egg rolls here. You truly are my favorite city, Chicago. Especially when spent downtown with my best friend; shopping, talking, stopping for mimosas, and enjoying the fall-like weather that the Midwest grants us sometimes.

We had some delicious french fries, amazing conversations, and ended up hanging out at The Union Station Bar since we missed our train.

It was one of those fall days that was perfect in itself and will hopefully be repeated. My only regrets are that I didn’t snag this burgundy bag I saw in the window at Forever 21 and that we ran for so long to try and catch the train that I hurt my knee. RIP to all the amazing stilettos I have that I can’t wear right now.I sorely miss them. I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday!
